CertainTeed, a Long History of Quality
In 1904, the General Roofing Manufacturing Company was founded in East St. Louis, Illinois, and was renamed CertainTeed in 1917. CertainTeed and Saint Gobain began a joint venture in 1967, and Saint Gobain was awarded shares of CertainTeed stock in 1970. CertainTeed was fully acquired by Saint Gobain in 1988. Saint Gobain's home improvement manufacturing history stretches back over 350 years. Thanks to proper training and following the fully engineered specifications of CertainTeed, that combined roofing knowledge is utilized in every roof we install.
